Main Duties and Responsibilities
1. Teaching boys from Year 4 up to and including Year 8 to Grade 8 level as appropriate on their instrument/theory.
2. To deliver 35-minute lessons on a weekly basis for each student across the academic year as timetabled by the Music Department Administrator. There will be breaks.
3. Possible addition of Theory teaching (ABRSM to Grade 5) for a suitable candidate.
4. To submit accurate records thereof.
5. Following the ABRSM and Trinity Examination specifications as appropriate, preparing students fully for examinations.
6. To liaise regularly and effectively with the Music Department Administrator to assist with the timetabling of lessons.
7. Preparing students fully for performances and auditions as appropriate.
8. To advise and encourage pupils to take advantage of appropriate musical activities such as choirs, ensembles, competitions and other musical opportunities.
9. To be aware of the individual needs of pupils by liaising with the Director of Music, Teachers, Tutors and parents as appropriate.
10. Providing assessment information and written reports as required.
11. Contributing to the Extra-Curricular Music programme when appropriate.
12. To participate in such meetings as are deemed appropriate by the Director of Music, including annual Safeguarding training.
13. To attend termly concerts and, where appropriate, to accompany/support their students in performance.
14. To undertake other reasonable tasks relevant to the needs of the School as the need arises.
