Salary: National – circa £55,000 / London – circa £70,000

Aviva operates a “smart-working” policy meaning that we spend approximately half of our time working in an office, and this role is based in Norwich or London.
A bit about the job:
Created in response to significant transformation activities within Finance, this role emphasises the importance of a high quality, sustainable control environment. You will be working to partner with stakeholders who are leading and delivering change activity across Finance and will be required to use your subject matter expertise to generate ideas, challenge processes and support delivery.
The successful individual will be engaging across the full lifecycle of the change process and will be supporting with identification of opportunities to drive improvements in the control environment, with a focus on identification, design and implementation of automated controls and use of technology to drive improved control outcomes.
Alongside this you will also provide input and challenge through the various stages of change delivery, including testing and business readiness activity, including working with change delivery leads on the identification of risks associated with change delivery and design of mitigating activities.
As part of the new team, you will also take an active role on design and implementation of overarching frameworks to Finance colleagues to assess and address risk and controls through change delivery.
You will be working as a business partner to individuals leading and delivering finance transformation and change activity, therefore you will be responsible for building working relationships with appropriate contacts and building your understanding of the relevant impacted processes, systems, and data.
You will work as part of a small team of subject matter experts supporting delivery of strong control outcomes for finance transformation and change, with a focus on use of technology alongside support on wider impact of change on controls.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
* Demonstrable delivery of improved risk and control outcomes, especially in context of IT application controls, technology enabled controls or financial controls.
* Experience of working with new technologies to enhance quality and sustainability of the control environment and associated risk and control activity.
* Ideally has the ability to read / understand common coding language: JavaScript, Python, R studio, SQL, XML etc. Experience of working with AI and Gen AI would also be highly beneficial.
* Good understanding of the insurance industry or financial services and knowledge of finance processes (operational and reporting) would be preferred.
* Good communication skills (verbal and written), with the ability to communicate your SME knowledge to a non-SME audience.

* Starting salary circa £55,000 (National) / circa £70,000 (London) (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
