Starting salary: Essex Scale 7 (pt 19-24) £13,019 - £14,469 (inc Fringe) actual part-time salary, moving to Scale 8 once the incumbent is ready to assume full Governance Professional responsibilities on the completion of the necessary training.
Working pattern: Part time, 18 hours per week during term time, with two additional weeks to be worked during school closure periods.
Working arrangements: This is a hybrid role, with plenty of opportunities to work remotely. The ability to travel across the Trust's school sites (Brentwood and Westcliff-on-Sea) is a must.
Strong Governance is integral to supporting Discovery Educational Trust in achieving its goals by providing the framework of standards for accountability and decision-making and maintaining the focus of the board in delivering them. This newly-created post offers a development opportunity for someone looking to train as a Governance Professional. The job will come with full training and the successful candidate will work alongside a team of dedicated, collegiate and supportive Trust staff.
The post may suit a skilled Clerk or Administration Manager seeking continuing professional development into a full Governance Professional role. Alternatively, applicants may have worked elsewhere in the education sector, and we also welcome transferable administrative, legal and managerial skills from other sectors.
Interviews will be held in the week commencing 25 November.
