Job Advertisement: Accounts Manager

Our client, a well-established distribution company, is seeking a talented Accounts Manager to join their team. Key Responsibilities:
Take charge of the accounts department and oversee a team of two administrators and an accounts supervisor.
Manage the full range of accounting tasks, including management accounts, bank reconciliations, and VAT returns.
Process salaries and ensure accurate payroll management.
Oversee the purchase ledger and credit control functions.
Monitor online banking activities and report on daily payments.
Collaborate with the operations team to make any required amendments to sales and purchase invoices.
Prepare sales reports and review and authorise payments.
Reconcile duty/vat sales and purchase ledgers from Sage to Def Sheet.
Liaise with overseas clients for invoice payment requests.
Carry out any other duties as deemed necessary for the role.
Skills Required:
Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and relevant laws and regulations.
Capability to provide meaningful monthly management accounts and forecasts.
Proficient in tax codes and reconciliation of control accounts and VAT/PAYE records with HMRC.
Proven experience as an Account Manager, demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of accounting duties.
Familiarity with SAGE is essential.
Ability to deal with multi-currencies.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Experience in the freight forwarding industry is preferable but not essential.
