This role works closely with the MD and the Finance Director (based at the parent site); the role is very 'hands on' and is responsible for the monthly management accounts, budgets, and supervision of an accounts assistant.
Key Duties include:
1. To supervise the Sales and Purchase Ledgers.
2. Chasing and reporting of all incoming payments.
3. To ensure all payments are made.
4. To manage the calculation and payment of VAT.
5. To ensure all Bank reconciliations are completed.
6. To carry out analysis work as required.
7. To lead, manage, recruit and develop the team.
8. Produce and submit month-end accounts.
9. Control the balance sheet and ensure accurate recording of all assets and liabilities.
10. Monthly reviews of overheads.
11. Work with the senior management team to support the budgeting and forecasting process.
The Requirement:
1. ACCA, CIMA, AAT or qualified by experience (5 years plus).
2. Previous experience in the construction sector would be advantageous.
3. The ability and initiative to work on your own and within a team.
4. Sound decision making and business judgement.
5. Organised and proactive.
6. Excellent attention to detail.
7. Confident to be able to deal with “challenging” situations.
8. Excellent IT skills including advanced Excel skills and competent use of Accounting Packages (preferably including Sage 200).
