SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Kidderminster
Salary: £425 to £450 per week
Contract: Temporary to Full Time
Hours: Monday to Friday (8:30 to 3:30pm)

Teaching Personnel are recruiting several Teaching Assistants for a specialist school based in Kidderminster. The school is set in large, private grounds amid a campus of historic buildings and caters for individuals aged 7 – 19, who have been primarily diagnosed with Autism, Spectrum Disorder, communication difficulties, complex needs, and challenging behaviour. Your role would be to support the pupils 1:1 by offering a supportive and relaxing environment, where young people can receive the specialist education and multi-disciplinary care they need.
At the school, each child receives an individualised education programme, which is tailored to meet their specific needs and is supported by a therapy team that includes psychology, occupational therapy, specialist speech and language therapy, mental health practitioners, therapy assistants, and family support workers who work in conjunction with the teaching assistants and qualified teachers.
Requirements & Responsibilities:
* Valid Full UK driving license
* Experience working with SEN in a school or similar environment (desirable)
* 1:1 or small group working experience with vulnerable people (desirable)
* Support the teaching and learning of SEN pupils across the school
* Motivate, engage, and inspire young people to learn and participate
* Support the teacher with general classroom and behaviour management
