Salary: £68,525
Hours: Full time/Part time (Minimum of 0.8 FTE)
Contract Type: Open Ended.
Location: Keyworth, Nottingham or Swindon (Hybrid working available including 2 days a week in the office)

Leadership of the Enabling Technologies function within Technology Services. The function is responsible for delivering the following capabilities & services:
Identity services
Platform services
AWS
Azure
Network services
Continuous Improvement
Technology centre of excellence
We are evolving the operational model within Technology Services to provide increased focus on business differentiating activity, working with partners where appropriate to take on transactional capability. We have a real focus on driving operational efficiency and establishing ourselves as a technology delivery centre of excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Management of a team of 15+ staff across multiple locations
Leadership & professional development of Enabling Technologies function
Ownership and delivery of the Enabling technologies roadmap
Champion the continued adoption of communities of practice & centres of excellence relevant to areas of responsibility
Ensure alignment with the security and architecture teams with respect to implementation of security controls and architectural principles
Deputise for Deputy Director Technology Services as required
Proactively develop and maintain the strategic relationship with UK SBS and strategic delivery partners with respect technology areas of responsibility
Contribute to the formulation of strategic plans to ensure that the Technology Services function is delivering in line with UKRI strategic objectives
Work constructively with relevant stakeholder groups to plan, support and implement organisational and business process change in support of performant, cost effective IT Service Delivery
Stay abreast of relevant industry trends and new technologies, making a case to incorporate within the estate where appropriate
Develop effective network with peer group, UKRI Group IT colleagues, DSIT and wider agency community
Balance score card & KPI dashboard reporting for function to senior stakeholder community
Determine strategic, operational and financial plans for area of responsibility.
Management of in-year Enabling Technologies budget, identifying and delivering efficiencies through consolidation and realising economies of scale.
Technology & Process experience and delivery
Microsoft Azure & AD

Diverse experience in platform technologies
Diverse exposure to networks related technology stack
DevOps principles, technology & tooling
Strong experience of Information security principles & best practice
Strong knowledge of public cloud infrastructure design, tools and strategies
Experience of a federated IT delivery model
Proactively identify technology related risks, taking appropriate action to mitigate or resolve
Define, develop and iterate standard operating procedures, policy and processes that support the Enabling Technologies function and wider Group IT

Essential Skills, qualifications and experience
Experience of delivering & leading a technology orientated function, servicing multiple locations in a public, or private sector setting (S&I)
Solid project management skills with the ability to produce compelling business cases and/or project delivery where required (I)
Experience of working directly with senior IT & business stakeholders, with the capability to communicate technology terminology to non-IT literate senior business partners (I)
Experience of budget management in excess of £1m (S&I)
Comfortable with ambiguity & able to operate highly effectively in a fast paced, changing environment (I)
High level of professional credibility with the influencing skills required to develop strong alliances and partnerships both internally and externally (I)
Strong organisational and planning skills (S&I)
Excellent inter-personal & communication skills (I)
Working knowledge of ITIL (S)
Working with strategic delivery partners to drive value and performance with respect delivery of enabling technology related services (S&I)
Proven procurement and commercial skills (S)
Degree qualification or equivalent experience. (S)
