In Gateway to Care we provide a person-centred approach to support people to manage their health and wellbeing. This is so they can maximise their independence, choice, and control to live healthier lives and where possible, to reduce future needs for care and support. We provide information and advice to those people who may need a level of support that is within the remit of adult social care.

Our focus is early intervention, prevention, community anchors and promoting wellbeing and outcomes which you could be a part of.
Your new role
You will be mainly office based to support your team at The Shay Stadium, in Halifax. You will have a joint responsibility with the Team Manager for staff within the team ensuring performance management, regulatory compliance, and service delivery, ensuring service priorities are met and take responsibility as required in the absence of Team Manager. You will be a proactive worker who has a proven record of working under pressure and supporting other staff members.
Your responsibilities will also include:
• Working collaboratively across the Council, with partners and statutory and voluntary agencies, to ensure a joined-up approach.
• Line management of social workers and Social Care Advisors.
• Developing a high level of expertise in particular areas of practice, and leading on those areas
About you
To apply, you need to be a qualified Experienced Occupational Therapist or Social Worker with current Social Work England registration and with significant post-qualification experience and knowledge of the Care Act 2014. You will also hold an additional post qualifying qualification such a Practice Education, Best Interest Assessor and/or Approved Mental Health Professional or be willing to work towards this within a specified time frame.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expect all staff to share this commitment. Applicants to posts that are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act will require a DBS from the Disclosure and Barring Service before the appointment is confirmed.
