CONSTRUCTION MANAGER - DATA CENTRES
Location: Greater London (West) - site based
Role:
The Construction Manager is responsible for managing the Design and Construction of agreed Data Centre offerings and associated infrastructure to the agreed budget and programme; including – procurement, budget allocation, supply chain management, delivery culture, contract admin, construction risk management, health and safety compliance, commissioning, certification and IST. Areas of responsibility include but not limited to:
* Responsible for budgetary and programme control over complex projects.
* Quality: Ensuring site project works including internal and contractor works meet design specifications and are carried out according to quality management procedures.
* Sets up and manages support functions covering planning, tracking, reporting, quality management and internal communication.
* Produces consolidated reporting to the Head of Construction, including milestone summary, key issues, risks, benefits, summary of costs incurred.
* Reviews project activities for compliance with procedures and standards.
* Stakeholder management across all parties (Interface with Clients, Architects, Designers and Contractors) to ensure a high performing project management team and supply chain that delivers the construction projects to agreed budgets and programmes.
* Identification and notification of technical and commercial risks associated with site works
* Safety: Ensuring site project work is carried out according to safety policy and procedures.
* Managing and leading the project team.
* Recruiting project staff and consultants.
* Managing co-ordination of the partners and working groups engaged in project work.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Detailed project planning and control including:
* Developing and maintaining a detailed project plan.
* Managing project deliverables in line with the project plan.
* Recording and managing project issues and escalating where necessary.
* Resolving cross-functional issues at project level.
* Managing project scope and change control and escalating issues where necessary.
* Monitoring project progress and performance.
* Providing status reports to the Head of Construction.
* Managing project training within the defined budget.
* Managing project evaluation and dissemination activities.
* Managing consultancy input within the defined budget.
* Final approval of the design specification.
* Working closely with users to ensure the project meets business needs.
* Definition and management of the system certification and IST programme.
* Identifying user training needs and devising and managing user training programmes.
