Summary – basic function of the role
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Quality Technician to join our team in Cramlington, Northumberland. In this role, you will be responsible for providing support to the Quality Manager to ensure that products and services comply with Enerpac Tool Group's internal and external customer standards. The Quality Technician will enforce, act and report on the health of the quality management.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
* Monitor and maintain the calibration status of measurement equipment, ensuring compliance with required standards.
* Conduct regular quality assessments at production stage, and final product stages to ensure compliance with internal and external standards.
* Liaise with suppliers to ensure the quality of all materials and components meets required standards.
* Collaborate with production teams to identify areas for quality improvement and implement solutions to enhance manufacturing efficiency and product reliability.
* Responsible for developing, maintaining & controlling on-site quality documentation (work instructions, inspection plans and project files, etc.)
* Participate in product development projects to ensure quality considerations are integrated from the initial stages.
* Develop project quality plans and communicate effectively through the team.
* Report non-conformance issues promptly and drive corrective and preventive actions to resolution within defined timeframes.
Skills and Competencies
* Outstanding group facilitation, training, communication & presentation skills; must be positive, persuasive, and motivating.
* Must possess excellent problem-solving skills.
* High level of MS Office operationally.
Education and Experience
* Proficiency in interpreting and analysing engineering prints and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
* Skilled in operating measurement tools and techniques, including:
o Hardness testing
o Callipers, micrometres, depth gauges, height gauges, thread gauges, and pin gauges
o CMM
o Other commonly used precision gauges
* Background in managing/developing quality aspects of machined component manufacturing / or final assembly processes.
* Significant experience in quality implementation.
* In-depth knowledge of APQP, PPAP, MSA, FMEA and control plans, SPC, 8D.
* Experience of working with an MRP system.
