An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and energetic individual committed to delivering exceptional levels of customer service to join our dedicated team undertaking the role of Business Services Assistant (Geographic) based at Basildon. You will be required to travel to other sites such as Grays for training and cover of services, at least twice a week. Therefore, you will require a full driving licence to fulfil this part of the role. Mileage costs will be paid.
You will be providing a wide range of administrative services, including but not limited to: ordering of stationery and other items, sorting and distributing supplies, internal mail, undertaking locker inventories and keeping associated records up to date, issuing and receiving petty cash, banking of seized cash, reconciling records and liaising with internal stakeholders to ensure the smooth running of the Admin Hub.
As first point of contact and a representative for Business Services, you will deal with a variety of customers and be required to understand their needs, provide first contact problem resolution and sign-posting customers to other corporate services as required.
You will be responsible for ensuring services are delivered to a number of operational sites across a geographical area in order to provide officers and staff the equipment and supplies they require in order to fulfil their duties. You will be required to organize and prioritize your own workload, with the ability to work independently and under pressure.
Applicants will need to provide evidence of the following skills and experience within the reason for application:
1. Previous administration experience, e.g. ordering and distribution of supplies
2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (both verbal and written)
3. The ability to work as part of a team with colleagues from other teams
4. Excellent organisational skills and the ability to contribute to change
5. Full UK driving license for travel between sites
6. Knowledge of the police environment and how it operates
7. Experience of Microsoft Office packages, e.g. Word, Excel

* Essex Police offer incremental increases within this salary band, therefore the salary for this position will rise to a maximum of £25,623.00.
