2. £30,500 to £47,133 per annum plus £3195 per year additional responsibility allowance

Head of RE – the role:

9. In addition to leading the team you will also be expected to teach A-Level Religious Studies as well as delivery of the RPE programme. As such, previous experience of teaching is essential
10. Your expertise and leadership will guide the curriculum, ensuring it reflects the richness and diversity of various religious traditions while promoting tolerance and respect for different beliefs
11. Lead all aspects of Catholic Education, ensuring Catholicity permeates the life of the college and that provision for Catholic Life, Religious Education and Collective Worship is outstanding
12. Lead a team culture that drives for high standards and in which staff feel empowered, valued and recognised for the work they do. This will include leading regular department meetings that focus on curriculum issues, student achievement, teaching strategies and the student experience
13. Participate fully in the Catholic Life of the college, promoting a sense of community with staff and students to strengthen relationships with those from different backgrounds and groups
14. Lead in the liturgical experience and spiritual life of the college, both curricular and extracurricular in conjunction with the principal and chaplain
15. Ensure the mission and vision for students are central to life of the college and informs how staff and students work together to promote success and the common good in the wider community
16. Lead and facilitate opportunities for spiritual growth and development, prayer, reflection and collective worship and gatherings. This includes promoting gospel values in accordance with our mission and vision
17. Help develop the RPE programme, ensuring it is fully aligned with Catholic Education, that it meets statutory requirements and that it delivers an engaging, well-resourced programme of study. This will include working closely with the Vice Principals and reporting on performance and outcomes
Candidate specification – what the college are looking for:
18. UK QTS
19. 2:1 or 1st class degree, in a RE related course
20. A minimum of 3 Years experience as a qualified Teacher of RE
21. Experience delivering the RPE programme
22. Strong academic background
23. Good to Outstanding teacher observation grades
24. Strong classroom management
25. An excellent understanding of the importance of religious education and support for the Catholic ethos of the college
26. Evidence of participation in faith life of the community and be a practising Catholic who can inspire and live the teachings of the faith
