We are seeking a capable, amenable and self-motivated aerodynamics and CFD engineer to join our team and drive our aerodynamic and CFD capability for both aircraft and engine. Key Qualifications BSc/BEng in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering 3 years of gas turbine relevant CFD experience Experience with Fluent and CFX Experience with automation using Python scripts desirable Experience in rig and engine aerodynamic testing is desirable Experience with CHT or coupling of CFD/thermal FEA desirable Team orientated, problem solving attitude Responsibilities The successful candidate will work within both the engine and aircraft design teams being responsible for aerodynamic predictions at the system, sub-system and component level: Set up, execute, and post-process CFD models to predict and understand the flow field for main gas path components, secondary air cavities, engine bay ventilation and other aircraft components as required. Optimise geometry and flow field to achieve the design targets. CHT calculations of hot components to verify thermal analyses. Produce characteristic maps for the components and subsystems (e.g. flow vs pressure ratio and speed for a compressor, or flow vs pressure drop and heat extracted for a heat exchanger). Define, plan, support and analyse engine or rig testing to verify and validate the design and achieve certification. Technical documentation of tasks and preparation of certification reports.
