An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated physiotherapist that currently specialises in MSK or whom has an interest in specialising in MSK to work within a friendly outpatient team at Kingston Hospital.
The department treats a variety of patients from orthopaedic, rheumatology, A+E and occupational health referrals. The successful candidate will also be key member of the trauma triage clinic (virtual fracture clinic) which involves working with the orthopaedic consultants.
The successful applicant will participate in a well structured in service training programme. They will also be responsible for the supervision of both junior staff and students, including preparing and leading teaching sessions. The role currently involves participation in the weekend orthopaedic rota.
Applicants must have completed core rotations as a Band 5 Physiotherapist including Orthopaedics and MSK. They should be able to perform advanced skills in the assessment and treatment of MSK conditions and demonstrate evidence informed clinical reasoning.
The main duties of the job include:
- Managing own individual caseload, providing high level care and being professionally and legally accountable.
- Leading patient classes and clinics targeted at different patient subgroups
- Supervision of rotational juniors and students
- Participation in the weekly senior inservice training program
- Participation in weekly quality improvement meetings
- Participating in departmental audit and research opportunities
- Working in Trauma Triage Clinic (virtual fracture clinic) alongside orthopaedic consultants.
