The successful candidate will join an enthusiastic and friendly team of NHS consultants in delivering high quality cardiology services at Salford Royal within the Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust.
The successful candidate will work with colleagues in developing and expanding services at Salford. It is expected that the successful applicant will possess a CCT in cardiology and a specialist interest in Cardiac Imaging, Heart Failure or both.
In addition, the successful candidate will work with the team in integrating cardiology services into the community and with the other hospitals within the NCA. There will be opportunities for research, involvement in postgraduate and undergraduate education and quality improvement developments.
This post is required to bolster service provision for General Cardiology, Cardiac Imaging and Heart Failure services. The successful candidate will join a clinical team of 8 Consultant Cardiologists (1 LTFT colleague), 2 Specialist Registrars, 2 Clinical Fellows, 5 Advanced Clinical Practitioners and 5 Specialist Nurses (SNs all in the HF service).
Key duties include:
• Provide outpatient and inpatient general cardiology care
• Provide specialist cardiac services – e.g. CTCA, DSE, HF clinics
• Take part in a 1:8 COW rota and 1:8 OOH cardiology on call
• Keep up to date in cardiology and areas of specialist interest
• Keep up to date with mandatory training and ALS
• Participate in job planning and appraisal annually
• Participate in audit, M&M, CG and QI
• Take part in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching
• Provide leadership and act as a role model
• Supervision of the specialty grade Dr, specialty trainees, FY1 and CMT doctors
