Stakeholder Engagement Manager - Permanent, London
The Stakeholder Engagement Manager is responsible for facilitating and enhancing impactful interactions with a diverse group of stakeholders in multiple settings.
The position demands a high level of proficiency in analysis and written documentation to effectively summarise and interpret interactions with external parties. This includes the ability to draft thorough reports for senior Pay.UK members, articulating the collected feedback, its relevance, and the advised steps moving forward. This will require developing an extensive knowledge of Pay.UK’s strategic initiatives (such as the NextGen payments infrastructure programme and the Fraud programme) and Pay.UK’s operations (including the running of the FPS, Bacs, and ICS payment systems). It will also require an understanding of the positions of Pay.UK’s external stakeholders.
Key Accountabilities
* Strategic and Tactical Engagement with external Heads/Director of Payments and internal stakeholders
* Support and advise SE Team leadership, synthesising the key themes from a variety of stakeholder sources, clearly communicating those themes to internal stakeholders, and reporting to ExCo and Board key themes, findings and recommendations
* Establish robust and productive partnerships with key external stakeholders, ensuring your credibility, consistency, and dependability are recognised
* Build positive and effective relationships with colleagues including ExCo members. Provide constructive challenge and feedback, and act as a trusted advisor
* Produce proposals to address the themes on engagement, including agreeing next steps with relevant internal stakeholders on how to evaluate issues moving forward with 'One Strategic Voice”
* Gather information from across Pay.UK Directorates who have responsibility for managing the tactical and operational stakeholder engagement forums that they operate and synthesize into key messages
* Research industry insights (in addition to direct engagement) to understand stakeholder developments and views
* Be competent in representing Pay.UK and effectively communicating its views and positions
* Providing high-quality analysis - capturing, synthesizing, and sharing of key insights from a wide range of stakeholder engagement
Skills, Qualifications & Experience
* Educated to degree level, or equivalent industry experience
* Stakeholder and relationship management experience in a regulated environment
* Ability to work across a very broad range of issues
* Ability to influence senior colleagues (at ExCo level) and provide robust challenge and feedback
* Ability to credibly represent the organisation with senior external stakeholders
* Skilled in evaluating information and expressing ideas in writing. The ability to interpret complex issues from a large amount of information quickly, explain concisely, and propose solutions
* Comprehensive communication skills with the ability to get messages across clearly and concisely. Savvy storytelling
* Ability to influence a wide range of senior internal and external stakeholders
* Comfortable leading and working in a fast-paced environment
* Insightful recognition of what's at stake for Pay.UK's standing if engagement efforts fall short, along with the competence to offer constructive feedback to team leaders to circumvent these issues
* A background in Policy advantageous
