NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. This is a fulltime, permanent post of 37 hours per week, with a core hour shift pattern.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and driven Administration Manager to join the team at the Institute of Neurological Sciences.
The department based on the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Campus.
The appointee will be the first point of contact for the administrative team within Institute of Neurology Sciences.
It is essential that the post holder has a good working knowledge of clinical software systems, excellent organisation and communication skills. They should also have a good understanding of Freedom of Information, Caldicott Guidelines and General Data Protection Regulations.
The post holder will line manages staff across a wide range of administrative roles including Medical Secretaries, Audio typist, waiting times team and patient facing reception roles. Therefore it is key that the post holder has extensive management experiences, preferably within a large organisation.
The service is actively involved in the Professional Administrative Transformation Programme, and we strive to achieve a positive learning environment for all staff from our Modern Apprentice to our experienced managers.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
