What's in store for you:
Murphy is looking for an experienced Stores person to work on one of energy projects in Scotland.
As a Stores Person working on our gas terminal project, you will play a key role in managing the materials, tools, and equipment necessary for daily operations. Your role will ensure that the construction team has timely access to the resources they need, helping to maintain productivity and efficiency on-site.
What your day will include::
* Inventory Management:Maintain accurate records of all materials, tools, and equipment, ensuring stock levels are appropriate for ongoing construction activities.
* Receiving and Distribution: Oversee the receipt, inspection, and distribution of deliveries, ensuring that all items meet quality and specification requirements.
* Stock Control: Conduct regular stock checks, audits, and reconciliations to minimize wastage and prevent shortages.
* Site Coordination: Work closely with site managers, foremen, and other team members to understand material requirements and ensure timely availability.
* Health and Safety: Ensure that all materials are stored and handled in compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, particularly regarding hazardous materials.
* Documentation: Keep detailed records of all inventory transactions, including delivery notes, transfer forms, and stock movement logs.
* Equipment Management: Maintain and monitor the condition of tools and equipment, arranging repairs or replacements as needed.
* Housekeeping: Ensure the stores area is well-organized, clean, and secure, promoting a safe and efficient working environment.
* Reporting: Provide regular updates to project managers on stock levels, material usage, and any potential supply issues.
What we need from you:
* Previous experience as a Stores Person or in inventory management within the construction industry is essential, ideally on large-scale infrastructure projects.
* Understanding of construction materials, tools, and equipment, with a specific focus on those used in Gas Terminal construction.
* Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently under pressure.
* Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office applications.
* Telehandler license 'all sizes' CPCS or Npors: and knowledge of construction site safety protocols are highly desirable.
