Specialist Biomedical Scientist Band 6: £39,912-48,635 Trainee Biomedical Scientist Band 5: £31,892-39,735 Aberdeen Royal Infirmary Hours: 37 hours per week Location: Clinical Biochemistry Department, Aberdeen Royal Infirmary Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced HCPC registered Biomedical Scientists with Specialist Portfolio in Clinical Biochemistry, or from graduates with an Applied Biomedical Science (Hons) degree, or a Biomedical Sciences (Hons) degree which is accredited by the IBMS as suitable for training purposes. Newly graduated candidates, if successful, will be placed on Band 5 and required to complete their Specialist Portfolio prior to progression to Band 6. Our modern, progressive and well equipped laboratory is the main provider of services to NHS Grampian. The department serves a population of 600,000 people and carries out in excess of 8 million tests per annum. Successful candidates will be expected to participate in the out of hours rota once trained and competent to do so. The Department is approved by IBMS/HCPC as a training laboratory and is UKAS accredited. Participation in CPD activities is actively encouraged and funding for further postgraduate study is available.
