The Children in our Care teams are a statutory service that works with children aged 0-18. These children and young people are looked after and our teams support and develop permanency and care planning. We have high expectations and are committed to improving outcomes for children. It is an exciting time to join the Durham family and we would love to chat with you about opportunities. WHAT IS INVOLVED? As a Team Manager, you will lead one of our five teams. The team consists of five social workers, one Enhanced practitioner, one consultant social worker and a social work assistant. We have a stable workforce, and you would be joining an established, supportive management team consisting of four other managers and five social work consultants. Our management is seen as outstanding as evidenced within our recent OFSTED inspection. We take a trauma informed, relationship-based approach to our relationships with each other, our partner agencies and the children and families we work with. We value the whole service approach we take to ensuring the children we work with have thorough assessment and planning and, where needed, safeguarding in place. The development of each individual in our service is highly important and you must ensure your team is well supported and has clear expectations of practise and accountability. You will contribute to ensuring our whole service approach continues and be part of developmental work with the other Team Managers. You will be key in working within the management team to ensure further progress is made to ensure effective care planning for every child. This is a wonderful opportunity to join our service as we continue to reflect and review the improvements we have made and how we measure these from the eyes of the children and their families. We continuously strive to do better and if you have the motivation and commitment to want to achieve the very best outcomes for children then we welcome your application.
