New Directions are looking for teaching assistants who are seeking work with pupils with additional learning needs (ALN) in Merthyr. We collaborate with a range of schools, including specialist schools, those with units for pupils with ALN, and mainstream settings that require 1:1 support for pupils with ALN. We have part-time, long-term, and day-to-day roles available.
As an ALN teaching assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with diverse needs to help them reach their full potential. You will work in primary and secondary settings where your responsibilities will include providing 1:1 and group support to students.
Responsibilities
* Working with other staff members to provide tailored support to students with ALN, including those with emotional and behavioural challenges.
* Assisting with preparing the classroom for lessons and ensuring all learning materials are readily available when needed.
* Creating a stimulating and nurturing environment where students feel motivated and empowered to succeed.
Requirements
* A minimum of three months experience working with children or young people in an educational setting.
* Ideally, experience working with pupils with additional learning needs or an enthusiasm to begin.
* Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with both pupils and staff.
* Eligibility to work in the UK.
* Possession of an enhanced child and adult DBS that is on the update service or willingness to run a DBS.
* Registration with the Education Workforce Council.
