The Role: Regional Maintenance Officer - Fixed Term Contact 12 months As a Maintenance Compliance Officer, you'll play a key role in ensuring our company adheres to essential regulatory requirements set by CQC, Fire Services, Local Authorities, and our Internal Quality Team. You'll be the driving force behind maintaining safety, compliance, and high standards across all our homes. Key Responsibilities: Lead an effective program of internal checks where we don't currently have a Maintenance Operative in place. Support existing Maintenance Operatives in managing their compliance duties. Train Maintenance Operatives on periodic checks, ensuring they are comfortable and proficient in the process. Establish solid internal controls to ensure all checks are completed on time. Regularly review and update internal checks as necessary. Proactively audit our practices, processes, and documentation to identify areas for improvement. Liaise with external auditors, Estates, and Quality Teams to maintain high compliance standards. Develop and implement crisis or compliance violation management plans. Provide staff education and training on current regulations and best industry practices. Mandatory Checks Include: Fire alarms (testing) Fire doors (condition and functionality) Fire escape routes (safe egress) Water temperatures Lighting (condition and functionality) Wheelchairs, mobile hoists, and beds (condition and functionality) The Ideal Candidate: We are looking for someone with solid experience in maintenance, building, and DIY, coupled with technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems. Basic IT skills are a plus You'll be friendly, approachable, and dedicated to maintaining high safety and quality standards in our homes to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for residents. You'll need to be flexible and ready to travel across the North East, from Yarm/Stockton to Choppington, Northumberland. With the ability to quickly learn and adapt, you will undergo intensive training on mandatory checks and become confident in performing them and training others. What's in it for you?
