( £2 per hour overtime) Hours: 38 hours per week, 06.45- 19.00pm, includes alternate weekends Week 1 - Tuesday 7:45-20.00, Wednesday 7:45-16.00, Thursday 7:45-20.00, Friday 7:45-16.00 Week 2 - Tuesday 7:45-16.00, Wednesday 7:45-16.00, Saturday 7:45-20.00, Sunday 7:45-20.00 Plus on-call which will include alternate weekends THE ROLE A rare and exciting opportunity to work at Serenita ARBD Care Home in Weston-super-Mare. At Serenita we are proud to provide specialist support for individuals living with Korsakoff’s syndrome with mental health problems and the effects of Alcohol-Related Brain Damage. As the Deputy Manager you will support the Manager with the day to day running of the home and will be responsible for the smooth running of the home in the Managers absence. You will act as a role model for the care staff and will provide all necessary support for residents, promoting an inclusive, happy and friendly environment. DUTIES INCLUDE Working with the Home Manager, monitoring all areas of the home ensuring the highest standards of care are delivered, working within company policies and procedures. Supporting residents with their daily care, promoting a non-restrictive environment which allows residents to grow and develop to their full potential. Ensuring support and care is evidence based, reflecting current trends. Taking part in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of all care and support delivered to residents. Assisting the Manager with recruitment, new starter inductions, staff rotas and ensuring all staff training is up to date. Monitoring and auditing all medications/the administration of all medications and, where necessary, ordering as required. Carrying out risk assessments and monitoring health and safety within the home. Assisting in any home audits, reviews and staff appraisals as requested by the Home Manager. Providing advocacy for residents who may require this service. Attending multidisciplinary meetings and resident and staff meetings. Working closely and building professional relationships with outside professionals. Demonstrating strong positive ideas about professional practice and development, and promoting the rights of residents in line with current legislation. THE RIGHT PERSON We are looking for a natural leader with relevant care experience. Someone who is passionate and self-motivated, and cares about making a difference. Will hold a level 3 diploma in Health and Social Care and will be willing to work towards their level 5 diploma. Will hold level 2 medication management training. 2 years’ experience within a relevant care and support setting. Will hold a full UK driving licence An ability to communicate a clear sense of direction and leadership. Management experience in a relevant care setting within the past 5 years would be preferred but not essential. Will be willing to attend training courses in line with personal development.
