Accounts Senior - Responsibilities
* Producing statutory accounts under FRS 102, FRS 105 and IFRS and ensuring compliance with financial reporting standards.
* Overseeing or directly handling clients' bookkeeping and preparing VAT returns.
* Responding to client inquiries on various accounting and tax issues, offering guidance, and maintaining relationships.
* Preparing and submitting corporation tax and personal tax returns, advising on tax planning strategies where relevant.
* Producing periodic management accounts and providing clients with financial insights to help with decision-making.
* Handling correspondence and compliance matters with HMRC on behalf of clients.
* Reviewing the work done by junior staff, including bookkeeping, accounts preparation, and tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
* Providing training to junior team members and offering mentorship to help them develop their skills.
* Managing workloads within the team, delegating tasks based on skill levels, and ensuring deadlines are met.
Accounts Senior - Requirements
* Proven work experience within practice.
* AAT qualified / part qualified or working towards ACCA or ACA qualification.
* Experience with Microsoft Office (particularly Excel).
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Strong data collection and analysis skills.
* Experience delivering client-focused solutions to customer needs.
* Proven ability to juggle multiple projects at a time, while maintaining sharp attention to detail.
* Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation abilities.
