The Senior Engineer has responsibility for the larger more complex sites including regular communication/assistance to support the customers. They have a broad knowledge and experience of many products. They are required to mentor less experienced Engineers to include out of hours support when they are on call (and possibly on site at one of the complex technical sites you are responsible for).
Key Responsibilities of the Senior Service Engineer:
• Assist colleagues when required with technical issues, either by telephone support or site attendance.
• Carry out engineer audits on a monthly basis and report back to the service supervisor with your findings i.e. checking logbooks are filled out correctly, engineer worksheets are clear, detailed and concise.
• To carry out any minor remedial/fault rectification works necessary during any PPM visit, supported by a separate call number and work sheet, and in conjunction with a written instruction/order from the client.
• Provide support, technical knowledge and coaching when required. Set the standard for other engineers, showing them why they should aspire to be a senior technical engineers, imparting your knowledge, showing them worksheet presentation, the required detail and how they should present themselves.
• Assist in the development of trainees, mentoring them in the Senseco working/best practice methods and report good progress or any areas of concern to your Service Supervisor.

Competencies of the Senior Service Engineer (Fire):
• Proven experience in the fire industry.
• Proven ability to install, test, commission and service Fire Alarm Systems and/or Security Systems.
• Excellent servicing, diagnostic and fault-finding skills, with the ability to resolve by elimination or technical recommendations.
• Computer Literate, good general IT skills including Microsoft Excel and Word. Understanding and ability of software programming on main line products such i.e. Morley, Advanced, Kentec etc.

• Specialist knowledge and experience on a broader and higher technical range of equipment such as Simplex, EST, Siemens to include software configuration and programming.
