Members of the scheme can use our services for all sorts of journeys, making it easier to go shopping, visit friends and attend doctor appointments. We provide 1.2 million journeys per year between 06:00 and 02:00, 365 days a year (subject to availability). As a Vehicle Maintenance Technician, you’ll carry out skilled vehicle maintenance, diagnostic and repair tasks, as required by the business, to ensure our fleet remains in a road worthy condition, and ready to support our customers. Due to the nature of our work, you must be willing to work at any of our company locations and be flexible in your working hours. Key Accountabilities Your duties will include, but not be limited to: Carrying out vehicle inspections and servicing requirements as per the documented maintenance procedure Investigating and diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults Working as part of the Vehicle Maintenance team to ensure vehicles are maintained in accordance with company procedures and to the required company maintenance standards Ensuring all work undertaken is fully recorded on all required company documentation Ensuring that all company maintenance equipment is maintained and kept in good order Ensuring that all parts issued from stores are recorded on vehicle records and reported in line with the documented stores issues procedure Attending training courses from time to time at the direction of the company, including internal online learning Keeping up to date on technical information Liaising and communicating with other departments within the company to ensure operational requirements are fully met Complying with all statutory acts relating to fire, Health & Safety and Environment Skills, Knowledge & Experience Skills Understanding of various vehicle components (Essential) Ability to diagnose faults using diagnostic equipment and specific testing procedures The ability to adapt to learning new tasks (Essential) Good team working skills, but with the ability to work independently on occasion, prioritising tasks on own initiative (Essential) Ability to document complete and accurate records (written or digital) of work completed and parts used, on vehicle records and stores (Essential) Must hold a current driving licence permitting the driving of vehicles in the UK (Essential) (D1 preferred) Knowledge Qualified in vehicle engineering and maintenance to NVQ Level 3 or an equivalent nationally recognised qualification (IRTEC) (Essential) A demonstrable basic understanding of Health & Safety legislation in the UK (Essential) Qualified in electrical and hybrid vehicle diagnostics and repairs, or, If you do not currently hold this qualification or experience, a willingness to undergo training (Essential) Experience Recent experience of working with general vehicle servicing; gearbox removal, replacements and re-builds; electrical work, suspension and steering components on modern vehicles (Essential) Equality, diversity and inclusion We are committed to equality, diversity and inclusion.
