We are seeking an ambitious, highly motivated Chemistry or Materials Science professional to join our team in a technical sales role.
The ideal candidate will be required to attend the office in Tamworth if not visiting customers.
The role also comes with a company car.
The function will be responsible for developing business with new and existing customers across the UK polymer industry, including thermoplastics, thermosets, and composites.
The role entails developing fruitful relationships with customers and suppliers using phone calls, emails, and face-to-face visits.
The role will involve significant UK travel as well as some international travel.
The ideal candidate will have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, as well as a highly curious and self-starter personality.
Responsibilities
The role will involve:
* Account management - maintaining and developing strong relationships with our existing customers, primarily in the field of polymers (thermoplastics, rubber, thermosets, composites).
* Source new sales opportunities through responding to and qualifying inbound leads
* Identify new business opportunities through prospecting and market research
* As part of the wider marketing strategy and training, produce engaging technical articles and multimedia on a range of topics
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
* A 2:1 MSc or higher in Chemistry or related field, or equivalent industrial experience
* Commercial experience beneficial but not required, we welcome applicants seeking to transition from a lab-based role into sales
* A highly curious personality with natural problem solving skills
* Ability to work independently with self-starter attitude
* Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
* Full UK driving licence
