Location: Remote with 50% travel within England
As an Account Development Manager within the HSL Business unit, you will be responsible for managing the existing EBIT of selected key accounts and identifying and converting year-on-year growth opportunities. This role requires creating and presenting compelling customer solutions and commercial proposals while developing and maintaining relationships throughout the customers' organizations to enhance our ability to retain and win business.
WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL?
As part of your normal duties, you will:
* Develop and leverage constructive relationships within assigned accounts, being a key contact for the customer.
* Continuously review business potential and identify potential business opportunities.
* Organize and hold quarterly business review meetings (QBRs) with the customer.
* Present solution proposals and business fits to decision makers, engage in negotiations, and close deals.
* Monitor performance of site operation teams and facilitate in case of customer issues.
* Support operational teams in the management of customers and act as an escalation point as required.
* Ensure account plans are in place, effective, shared with sponsors, reviewed, and used as a tool to develop customer relationships and growth.
* Collaborate with internal functions that support the sales process (Solution Design, HR, IT, Real Estate, Legal, Finance, etc.), gather required input, and coordinate actions.
* Conduct opportunity assessments for identified opportunities and develop recommendations on pursuit or cancellation based on financial attractiveness, risk, and fit of customer requirements with HSL capabilities.
* Manage the renewal agenda and ensure current business is profitably maintained.
WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?
* Excellent relationship-building and communication skills.
* Ability to create and present compelling commercial proposals.
* Customer facing experience and the ability to build strong relationships at all levels.
* Strong research and analytical skills to understand customer needs and market opportunities.
* Effective in coordinating and leading cross-functional teams.
* Proven experience or a keen interest in account management or business development.
* Experience in a Public Sector environment would be beneficial.
* Experience in project management would be beneficial.
* Any operational experience would be an advantage, including warehousing, transport, air/sea freight, and control tower involvement.
* A commercial/financial background would be beneficial.
