Health and Safety Coordinator - Ensuring a Safe and Secure Workplace
Role Summary:
We are excited to offer an exceptional opportunity for a Health and Safety Coordinator to join our team. Reporting directly to the Group Health and Safety Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with current health and safety legislation and best practices within the industry. With a focus on minimizing operational losses, occupational health issues, accidents, and injuries, you will work closely with operational teams to foster a positive health and safety culture.
Responsibilities:
* Ensure all site risk assessments, including fire safety, operational safety, manual handling, COSHH, DSE, and noise assessments, are up to date, reviewed regularly, and in line with best practices.
* Conduct regular inspections and audits of site health and safety performance in line with group policy to ensure full compliance.
* Thoroughly investigate all accidents and near misses, following group systems and reporting procedures, and maintain accurate and accessible documentation.
* Monitor and maintain health and safety equipment checks.
* Assist the Group Health and Safety Manager in processing new liability claims information.
* Collaborate with the training department to deliver and evaluate health and safety training programs and toolbox talks in accordance with divisional recommendations.
* Chair health and safety committee meetings and drive results.
* Design and implement promotional campaigns to maintain health and safety awareness.
* Provide support for site inductions, ensuring new colleagues and transferees understand their health and safety responsibilities.
* Assist the Group Health and Safety Manager in maintaining quality accreditations.
* Play a major role during external audits.
* Continuously seek opportunities to improve the site's health and safety management system.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Ideally from an Engineering background.
* IOSH General Certificate in OHS or equivalent.
* IOSH Fire Certificate (desirable).
* Proven experience in a similar role.
* Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications and health and safety information systems to produce accurate and visually engaging reports.
* Experience in delivering training is desired.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Familiarity with manufacturing site safety standards.
* Up to date with current legislation.
* Self-driven, enthusiastic, and capable of delivering, reporting, and advising on KPI performance.
Monday - Friday 8:30/9am - 5pm
