Your skills andexperiences:
Essential:
* Degree inMathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Engineering, Nuclear Science, or arelated field
Demonstrableknowledge/experience of radiation physics, nuclear engineering,nuclear safety orsimilar Knowledge/experience ofRadiological safety assessments, ALARP justifications orsimilar Knowledge/experience ofradiation transport methods (ATTILLA/MCBEND/MCNPetc.)
Desirable:
* Experience of submarineenterprise

The Radiation Physics & Shieldingteam: Our team is responsible forthe design and validation of radiation shielding for the UK’snuclear powered submarine fleet. We are engaged across threedifferent submarine programmes in different stages of theengineering lifecycle designing new shields, providing designchange assessment into the build programme, and conductingradiation metrology on-board during commissioning. Alongside ourprimary work we conduct radiological safety studies for severalother areas, design novel radiation detectors and are developingcapability in the field of radiation damage to electronics.
