Applications are invited from friendly, caring and compassionate individuals to work in our Regional Disability and MS Team. The role is based at Walkergate Park Hospital in Newcastle, working 8:30am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday.
The Regional Disability Team offers a range of services for people with long-term neurological disabilities from the age of 16 years onwards, and the Community Multiple Sclerosis Team offers specialised community and outpatient rehabilitation for people with MS, also providing support to families at any stage following diagnosis.
Main Duties of the Job
The main duties of the role will include:
* Communicating at all levels, handling high volumes of telephone calls from service users, external professionals, and carers/relatives.
* Accurately updating patient details within RiO (the Trust's patient information system).
* Scanning and uploading documents.
* Dealing with correspondence.
* Assisting with ad hoc requests.
* Experience with Microsoft Office and working within an administrative environment is essential; knowledge of RiO is desirable.
The post holder will also undertake additional duties such as ordering supplies, requesting repairs, updating rotas and duty sheets, and covering reception/other departments on the site where necessary. This list is not exhaustive.

Person Specification
Education and Qualifications
* Good general level of education up to Level 1 standard in English Language and Maths.
* NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration or Customer Service.
Skills and Knowledge
* Working knowledge of Microsoft applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
* Able to input data accurately and efficiently and undertake repetitive tasks whilst maintaining attention to detail.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written, face-to-face and non-facing customers.
* Knowledge of working in an NHS environment.
* Ability to maintain and update patient information database(s).
* Experience of dealing with Petty Cash.
Experience
* Ability to uphold confidentiality at all times.
* Able to prioritise and plan own workload.
* Experience of carrying out administrative tasks, e.g., data input, receiving, and making telephone calls.
* Experience of working in an NHS/healthcare setting and processing NHS/Healthcare documentation.
* Experience of working with paper-based and electronic filing systems.
