DWP is hiring for a Clinical Lead Auditor, with a comprehensive understanding of Personal Independence Payment benefit (PIP). Pay: £55,557 - £66,058 Youll be part of our Controls and Assurance Division within the Contract Management & Partner Delivery Directorate (CMPD). DWP are responsible for welfare policy and provide support to disabled people and those with health conditions. Youll lead, support and develop a team of experienced clinicians to audit and assure the work of 4 external suppliers, who currently undertake PIP assessments with UK Citizens on behalf of DWP. Our team audit and uphold the clinical quality of those assessments. In simple terms we are DWPs clinical quality assurance. We ensure that the assessments deliver the policy as intended, and ensures fair outcomes for some of the most vulnerable people in our society. When we audit our suppliers, were reviewing a number of areas, including: Has the supplier assessor made recommendations based on all available evidence? Are the medical assessments consistent particularly in respect of quality and clinical accuracy? Have the DWPs guidelines been followed accurately? Youll be the lead for this area, so youll represent the work we do to internal and external stakeholders. Youll need to be confident in articulating complex clinical information to a variety of audiences/disciplines. Youll also identify themes and trends through analysing audit outcomes, ensuring we can provide clinically accurate and actionable feedback to our suppliers, providing the best standard and consistency of service to UK citizens. Job Description As Clinical Lead - PIP, youll support and develop an independent team of experienced clinical qualified professionals who deliver comprehensive audits of our PIP assessment suppliers. Your team constructively critiques the quality of health assessments and associated reports, ensuring accurate clinical judgement is fairly applied, in accordance with DWP policy. You will be an active member of the Controls and Assurance Division (CAD) senior leadership team, contributing to wider divisional issues, providing appropriate advice, guidance and influencing best practice with colleagues. What skills and experience do I need to apply? Lead Criteria 1 Proven experience of utilising up-to-date knowledge of PIP assessment criteria to directly or through others objectively and accurately critique assessment reports ( Face to Face Assessments, Telephone Assessments, Video Assessments and Paper Based Assessments ) covering a broad variety of relevant health conditions. Lead Criteria 2 Robust evidence of strong leadership, both personal and corporate, in changing circumstances, with experience of leading and motivating high performing teams.This will include actively promoting diversity and inclusion and supporting staff health and wellbeing. Ability to provide clear and unambiguous feedback (verbally or in writing), justifying sound clinical judgement in potentially difficult situations. Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to working with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to secure agreement. You will be a self-starter who can work flexibly and adapt quickly to change, balancing priorities whilst meeting deadlines. You will be able to analyse data to identify trends, identifying any concerns, providing feedback, and addressing these appropriately Evidence of clinical experience as an approved Health Professional post registration, with current registration validated and up to date Continuous Professional Development.
