An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and competent full-time Senior Ward Clerk Team Leader to provide comprehensive administrative support and excellent customer service within the Maternity & Gynae Women’s Health Departments at the Royal London Hospital. This post comprises 37.5 hours per week, predominantly Monday- Friday and can including long shift work covering - days and nights, weekdays and weekends to cover leave.
The role will include the following duties:
Provide admin support to the ward, receive/welcome new patients onto the ward, checking particulars on their records and ensuring notes are in order. Ensure identity bracelets available for nursing staff. Compile sets of required blank documentation for emergency patients. Maintain a real-time bed state by updating in-house systems with all patient movements routinely throughout your shift. Support patient flow by updating all Trust systems & efficiently booking transport as requested. Relieve Clinical staff of general administrative procedures where appropriate. Act as receptionist to patients and visitors and answer the phones. Manage patients notes during admission and following discharge.
To line manage, supervise, and coordinate a team of Ward Clerks ensuring compliance with Trust standers.
To be responsible for ensuring there is comprehensive administrative and clerical support to members of the multi-disciplinary team by ensuring effective communication, excellent ‘front of house’ and accurate use of the Trusts clinical systems.
