Are you ready to be part of something groundbreaking? I am working with an Oxford-based company who are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join their multidisciplinary team working on cutting-edge technology that consumes significantly less energy than traditional electronics. You’ll collaborate with experts in optics, optoelectronics, digital and analogue electronics, embedded software and AI/ML algorithms, contributing to a technology that is shaping the future. The Mechanical Engineer’s role will involve designing, analysing, and improving mechanical systems and components for the product while working closely with other engineers to develop innovative, high-impact solutions that meet industry standards.
Responsibilities as a Mechanical Engineer:
* Design, and develop Compact, Robust Opto-Mechanical systems for products, prototypes and optical testing
* Work with the electronics team to develop system prototypes
* Utilise CAD software to create detailed designs and engineering drawings
* Conduct structural, material, and thermal analysis to optimise the performance and reliability of opto-mechanical system
* Prototype builds, testing, and validation of opto-mechanical systems to ensure compliance with design specifications and performance requirements.
Skills Required as a Mechanical Engineer:
* Experience with Optical Products
* Proficiency in CAD software
* Proficiency in Simulation Tools
* Strong understanding of Mechanical Principles, and Materials Science
* Familiarity with the basic principles of optical design
* Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
