K&D is delighted to support our local client, who is seeking an experienced and highly motivated professional to join their Field Service Support team.
As a skilled individual, you will be pivotal in maintaining our hire fleet, which includes mini cranes, glass lifting equipment, and glazing robots. Our client is looking for a multi-skilled mechanical/electrical-biased Engineer who embraces a can-do attitude and is comfortable with some customer-facing responsibilities.
Competitive Salary Range: £38,000 - £40,000 (£45,000 - £50,000 OTE)
Monday to Friday Work Schedule: 8.30 am to 5.30 pm

Key Responsibilities:
1. Diagnose and rectify faults in our diverse range of machinery as a Field Service Maintenance Engineer.
2. Identify parts or components required to make suitable repairs, showcasing your expertise in field service maintenance.
3. Visit sites to repair defects when necessary, showcasing your on-site skills as a Field Service Maintenance Engineer.
4. Inspect, test, and certify the safety of all Electrical/Mechanical Plant in the fleet, demonstrating your commitment to safety in field service maintenance.
5. Install and commission new machinery and equipment, adhering to agreed levels of responsibility, manufacturer's specifications, and current legislation in field service maintenance.
Experience, Knowledge & Skills:
1. Field service maintenance experience is preferred but not essential.
2. Be prepared to travel across the south of the UK to attend to customer issues on-site as a Field Service Maintenance Engineer.
3. Strong mechanical and electrical engineering experience, a key skill for a professional in field service maintenance.
4. Possess a recognized Engineering qualification in field service maintenance.
5. Understand the basics of AC/DC motors and generators, showcasing your technical knowledge in field service maintenance.
6. Use telematics for diagnostics, demonstrating your technological skills in field service maintenance.
7. Proficiency in electric portable tools, wiring and distribution systems, basic petrol and diesel engines/generators, pumps, and hydraulics, reflecting your versatility in field service maintenance.
8. Ability to read and interpret engineering diagrams and charts is a crucial skill for a professional in field service maintenance.
9. Understanding of health and safety requirements is a priority for a professional in field service maintenance.
10. Excellent communication and administrative skills, essential for a professional in field service maintenance.
11. Strong problem-solving ability, a trait inherent in a professional in field service maintenance.
