We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicatedLearning Support Assistant (LSA)to join our expanding SEND and Inclusion Department atHerne Bay High. This role offers the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students, providing tailored support across the curriculum, including within our Specialist Alternative Curriculum Provision.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide one-on-one or small group support for students with SEND, working closely with our SENCo.
* Offer mentoring and targeted intervention during mentor time to foster student engagement and progress.
* Collaborate with classroom teachers to deliver high-quality in-class support.
* Track student progress and help identify areas for further development.
* Develop and adapt learning materials to meet individual student needs.
* Proactively manage the continuity of support for absent students, including redeploying resources where necessary.
* Support Heads of Department to enhance your subject knowledge and improve the quality of student support.
* Supervise additional school sessions, including internal and external exam access arrangements for SEND students.
* Attend relevant training and meetings to stay updated on best practices in SEND education.
What We’re Looking For:
* A proactive, compassionate, and flexible individual with a genuine desire to make a difference.
* Previous experience or an understanding of working with students with SEND is preferred, but we offer full training.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
* An organized approach to keeping accurate records and contributing to the development of SEND provision at the school.
What We Offer:
* Salary:Kent Scheme Band 3, £23,337 to £23,440 pro rata (actual salary starting at £14,902.77). Negotiable based on experience.
* Hours:28 hours per week, term-time only + 2 additional days.
* Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 8.50am - 3.05pm
* Flexible Working:We are open to exploring flexible working arrangements, such as variable start times or longer days spread over 3 or 4 days of the week.
