Summary:
A financial adviser provides expert advice to clients on managing their finances, investments, and planning for the future. They help individuals and businesses make informed decisions about how to allocate their financial resources, save for retirement, and achieve long-term financial goals.
Location:
This role will be based around the St Ives, Cambridge area.
Responsibilities:
Client Consultation and Needs Assessment:
* Meet with clients to understand their financial goals, risk tolerance, and current financial situation.
* Conduct financial assessments, including income, expenses, investments, and liabilities.
* Identify clients’ short- and long-term financial goals (e.g., retirement planning, estate planning, education funding).
Financial Planning and Strategy:
* Develop comprehensive financial plans tailored to clients’ needs.
* Recommend financial strategies and solutions, such as budgeting, investing, tax planning, insurance, and retirement planning.
* Create and present investment portfolios, strategies for wealth accumulation, and risk management plans.
Investment Management:
* Advise clients on various investment options (stocks, bonds, mutual funds, real estate, etc.).
* Monitor clients’ investment portfolios and recommend adjustments as necessary based on performance and changes in clients' circumstances.
* Ensure portfolios align with clients’ risk tolerance and financial goals.
Retirement and Estate Planning:
* Help clients plan for retirement by recommending pension plans, IRAs, 401(k)s, and other retirement savings options.
* Assist clients in estate planning, including wills, trusts, and minimizing estate taxes.
Insurance Advice:
* Recommend insurance products (life, health, disability, etc.) that align with clients’ financial needs and goals.
* Ensure clients are adequately covered for risks.
Ongoing Monitoring and Relationship Management:
* Build long-term relationships with clients to foster trust and ensure continued financial health.
* Provide regular portfolio reviews and updates, adjusting strategies as necessary.
* Keep clients informed about market trends and financial news that may impact their strategies.
Regulatory Compliance:
* Stay current on financial regulations, market trends, and products to ensure all advice and strategies are compliant with laws and regulations.
* Maintain necessary certifications and licenses (such as Series 7, Series 65, or CFP).
Skills and Qualifications:
* Strong understanding of financial markets, investment strategies, tax laws, and insurance.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to explain complex financial concepts in simple terms.
* Problem-solving skills and the ability to create customized financial solutions.
* Ability to assess risk and align it with client preferences.
* Certifications such as Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), or similar.
* Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
