Education
Required Completion of an approved Radiologic Technologyprogram
WorkExperience
Preferred CT experience
Certifications
Required Registered by the American Registry of RadiologicTechnologists (ARRT) and/or computed tomography ARRT (CT) certifiedOR American Registry of Radiologic Technologists(ARRT) registry eligible registered by the American Registry ofRadiologic Technologists (ARRT) within 90 days of employment andtemporary state license required
CT registryeligible within one year
Advanced certificationin CT required within one year of becoming CT registryeligible
Current unrestricted license in thestate of practice
Current Basic Life Support(BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
Preferred Advanced certification in CT required by amechanism acceptable to the American Registry of RadiologicTechnologists (ARRT)
Knowledge Skills and Abilities(KSAs)
16. Must have computer skills and dexterity required for dataentry and retrieval of information.
17. Effective verbal and written communicationskills and the ability to present information clearly andprofessionally.
18. Must beproficient with Windowsstyle applications various software packagesspecific to role and keyboard.
19. Strong interpersonal skills.
20. Knowledge of CT procedures and technicallanguage.

25. General knowledgeof cardiac anatomy Doppler physics and the hemodynamics of bloodflow in relation to the various disease states.

27. Skills toassist attending physicians with interventional proceduresrequiring ultrasonic guidance.
Job Duties
28. Verifies physician order andprocedure to assure accuracy.
29. Utilizes radiology information systems to facilitatecare.
30. Explains procedureto patient to ensure understanding.
31. Independently operates equipment to completeimaging procedure according to protocol (including placement ofIV).
32. Reviews patientimages prior to transmission to ensure images meet diagnosticquality standards.
33. Completes timely quality control procedures in accordancewith regulatory standards and performing notification/remediationas warranted.
34. Assists inthe facilitation of departmental operations (inventory staffschedules equipment maintenance etc.).
35. Adapts behavior to the specific patientpopulation including but not limited to: respect for privacy methodof introduction to the patient adapting explanation of services orprocedures to be performed requesting permissions and communicationstyle.
36. Other relatedduties as required.

Physical and EnvironmentalDemands
The physical demandsdescribed here are representative of those that must be met by anemployee to successfully perform the essential functions of thisjob. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individualswith disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Medium Work Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionallyand/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently and/or greater thannegligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.(Constantly: activity or condition exists 2/3 or more of the time)to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess ofthose for Sedentary Work. Even though the weight lifted may be onlya negligible amount a job should be rated Light Work: (1) when itrequires walking or standing to a significant degree; or (2) whenit requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and/orpulling of arm or leg controls; and/or (3) when the job requiresworking at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushingand/or pulling of materials even though the weight of thosematerials is negligible. NOTE: The constant stress and strain ofmaintaining a production rate pace especially in an industrialsetting can be and is physically demanding of a worker even thoughthe amount of force exerted is negligible.
Mechanical lifting devices (carts dollies etc.) or teamlifts should be utilized.
Must be able to stoop bendreach and grab with arms and hands manual dexterity.
Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time.
Must be able to travel throughout and between facilities.
Duties performed routinely require exposure to blood bodyfluid and tissue.
The incumbent works in apatient care area; works in an area where patients enter; worksdirectly with patients; and/or works with specimens that couldcontain communicable diseases. There may be an occupational riskfor exposure to communicable diseases.
Becausethe incumbent works within a healthcare setting there may beoccupational risk for exposure to hazardous medications orhazardous waste within the environment through receipt transportstorage preparation dispensing administration cleaning and/ordisposal of contaminated waste. The risk level of exposure mayincrease depending on the essential job duties of therole.
