Editorial Lead - Birmingham City Football Club Birmingham City Football Club is searching for an experienced and dynamic Editorial Lead to oversee the creation and editing of high-quality written content across all platforms. In this critical role, you will help shape the Club’s voice and ensure consistent, accurate, and engaging communications while supporting media relations and external outreach. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage all written content, ensuring alignment with the Club’s tone and style guide. Oversee the production of the matchday programme, including sourcing and proofreading contributions for final approval. Develop compelling non-football-related content for campaigns, partnerships, and events. Coordinate with freelance writers to maintain a consistent flow of content across Club channels. Draft press releases, Club statements, match reports, and provide coverage for press conferences. Assist with media queries, accreditation, and matchday media responsibilities. Provide written coverage for the women’s, U23, U18, and academy teams as needed. Work closely with the Media and Content Manager on crisis communications and support media operations. What We’re Looking For in You: Essential: Degree-level qualification in media, journalism, or a related field. Proven experience in content writing, particularly in sports or a similar environment. Exceptional attention to detail, with strong writing and proofreading skills. Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with content management systems. Willingness to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Desirable: Experience in football or sports media. Skills in video editing and camera operation. Personal Attributes: Enthusiastic, self-motivated, and proactive. A team player with strong communication and relationship-building skills. Able to independently manage multiple projects from concept to completion. Full and clean UK driving licence is essential.
