THE ROLE Change Manager - Glasgow / Edinburgh The Change Manager focuses on the people side of transformation, ensuring successful adoption and sustained implementation of changes. Key responsibilities: Change Strategy, Planning & Execution Develops and executes change management strategies and roadmaps. Aligns change initiatives with business objectives and transformation goals. Identifies potential risks and resistance points in the change process. Executes change plans together with the project team and in internal comms Stakeholder Engagement & Influence Engages with key stakeholders at all levels to ensure buy-in and support. Uses influence and relationship-building skills to drive change adoption. Understands organizational dynamics and adapts communication styles accordingly. Communication & Storytelling Develops clear and compelling narratives that articulate the need for change. Creates communication plans and communications assets that address different audience segments. Delivers messages in an engaging, transparent, and persuasive manner. Training & Capability Building Designs and implements training programs to equip employees with necessary skills. Identifies learning needs and ensures continuous development throughout change initiatives. Works with HR and Learning & Development teams to integrate change into employee development. Change Impact Assessment & Readiness Conducts impact assessments to understand how change affects individuals and teams. Measures organizational readiness and addresses gaps proactively. Develops mitigation strategies to minimize disruption and resistance. Agile & Adaptive Approach Adjusts strategies based on feedback, data, and evolving business needs. Works effectively within Agile and iterative transformation frameworks. Encourages a culture of flexibility and continuous improvement. Resistance Management & Employee Engagement Identifies sources of resistance and implements strategies to overcome them. Uses empathy and active listening to understand employee concerns. Creates engagement initiatives to build a sense of ownership and commitment to change. Performance Measurement & Sustainability Defines success metrics and tracks the progress of change initiatives. Uses data analytics to measure adoption rates, employee sentiment, and impact. Ensures change is embedded into business-as-usual operations. Collaboration & Cross-functional Leadership Works closely with project teams, HR, IT, and business leaders to ensure alignment. Facilitates workshops and collaboration forums to drive collective decision-making. Acts as a bridge between technical and business teams for seamless transformation. Cultural Awareness & Emotional Intelligence Understands organisational culture and its impact on change success. Adapts change strategies to fit different cultural and organisational contexts. Demonstrates strong emotional intelligence, resilience, and adaptability. Ideally, they would have some accreditation in change management - e.g. Prosci/APMG, or project management - e.g. MSP/Agile/Prince. Definitely need experience of using creative tools such as Canva, InDesign to create presentations, videos and other engagement assets.
