We’re supporting our client, a leading machine manufacturing company based in Toomevara, who are looking for a Production Engineer to join their growing team. The successful Production Engineer will have experience of working with manufacturing equipment and quality assurance techniques, as well as a level 8 degree in manufacturing engineering.
Position Overview: As Production Engineer, you'll be planning, scheduling and coordinating production to ensure products are produced safely, efficiently and to the required quality standard. There is a key emphasis on cost effective, timely production with appropriate team support. The Production Engineer will report directly to the Production Manager and work alongside the Quality, Engineering and our Warehouse team to deliver company goals and objectives. Your primary focus will be on scheduling, improving data collection and implementing a digital communication system across the production floor.
Responsibilities for Production Engineer:
* Supervising the manufacturing processes, ensuring quality work is done in a safe, efficient manner.
* Drawing up production schedules and targets in line with sales orders and agreed delivery dates.
* Working with the Production Manager to develop plans that improve production costs and optimise the manufacturing labour required.
* Diagnosing problems in the production line and providing recommendations and training.
* Identify opportunities and support the Production Manager to implement strategies to reduce production costs, increase production efficiencies and eliminate waste, ensuring production is cost effective.
* Drive lean principles throughout the production facility.
* Establishing safety procedures and protocols that take the workers’ well-being into account, and that also minimise the carbon footprint.
* Keeping abreast of advancements in production and digitalisation and sharing knowledge with co-workers.
* Identifying, documenting and reporting unsafe practices.
* Scheduling meetings with relevant departments and stakeholders
* Support the implementation of an ERP system
About You:
* Level 8 degree in manufacturing engineering
* Knowledge of manufacturing processes, fabrication methods
* Familiarity with manufacturing equipment and quality assurance techniques
* Commitment to health and safety standards and environmental regulations
* Project management skills
* Teamwork skills
* Experience with CAD software
* Proficiency with MS Office
* Proven experience in the engineering field
* Superb analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
* Strong leadership abilities
* Minimum of 2 years manufacturing experience working with a team of 30 plus employees
