Are you passionate about machines and mechanisms? We are looking for a well-rounded Senior engineer with proven experience in mechanisms design and NPI. This role involves analysis and synthesis of planar mechanisms, plus their required engineering validation, which implies both an analytical and hands-on mindset. Main Responsibilities Analysis of planar mechanisms – understand their kinematics and dynamics. Synthesis of planar mechanisms – create mechanisms to fulfill specific requirements. Mechanical detail design – materialize the most practical aspects of design. NPI management – help designs transition into marketable products. Skill Set & Personal Attributes Mandatory In possession of a Mechanical/Aerospace/Automotive/Mechatronics engineering degree – beneficial if educated to postgraduate level on related subjects. Demonstrable experience in mechanisms design – all experience considered, advantageous if at least 5 years. Can-do attitude and collaborative personality essential. Advantageous Competent in the use of CAD – beneficial if certified SolidWorks training is proven. Analysis and synthesis of planar mechanisms – kinematic modelling essential, dynamic modelling beneficial, extra points if familiar with vibration analysis. Exposed to the use of SolidWorks PDM. Familiarized with detail mechanical design – more competitive if specific experience on use of standard machine parts is available. Good understanding of BS8888 and ISO GPS - basic knowledge of technical drawing best practices and GD&T fundamentals outside these norms will also be considered. Working knowledge of metrology fundamentals – both traditional and extraction methods considered. Proficient in mechanics of rigid and elastic solids – exposure to FEA also considered. Introduced to Design of Experiments – extra competitive if coupled with experimental/quantitative methods. Well-versed in Failure Mode analysis – all methods considered, though advantageous if familiar with any functional analysis method and IEC 60812:2018. Working knowledge of DFMA, materials selection and manufacturing processes – required for NPI management.
