Our client, who are a market leader within the Transport and Logistics industry across Shropshire are looking for a motivated and experienced individual to join them at their Stafford Park, Telford site as a Transport Planner.
The successful Transport Planner will be joining a fast growing, independent transportation company on Stafford Park, however may be required to travel to their site in Hortonwood, Telford for adhoc occurrences, so must be flexible.
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 8am - 5pm
Duties will include:
Plan and design national transport routes for a fleet of 16 HGVs
Working in partnership with the Transport and Operations Manager
Assess, map and communicate solutions to diversions and congestions to ensure delivery times are met
Manage routes to maximise productivity of drivers ensuring costs are controlled
Plan adhoc transport requests and adjustments
Ensure schedules utilise drivers and vehicles on a daily basis
Ensure all records are updates relevant to the movement of stock and materials
Prepare and produce work sheets and delivery documentation for drivers, working with the administration team
Manage drivers hours in line with legislation and WTD
Responding to calls and email enquiries in a timely manner - particularly those relating to new and existing bookings
Liaise with customers to provide accurate updates
Calculate total transportation lead time and costings
Collate delivery information relevant to internal and external parties
Previous experience working within a Transport Office is required in order to be successful in the Transport Planner role.
