My client is an independent multi-disciplinary engineering, environmental and project management consultancy. Roles and Responsibilities:
Perform structural design calculations for steel, concrete, timber and masonry following British Standards/Euro Codes.
Adhere to internal QMS procedures ensuring compliance with internal design checking protocols.
Coordinate with professionals and contractors, manage time for timely project delivery.
Work independently on smaller projects or as part of a team on larger schemes.
Ensure commercial delivery of projects, meeting deadlines and budgets.
Collaborate with other company consulting offices.
Supervise trial hole investigations and undertake visual structural inspections.
Mentore Junior Engineers.
Liaise with Clients and design team members to meet client briefs, attending meetings as required.
Engage in business development activities.
Contribute to fee proposals where necessary.
Assist in project management, ensuring commercial delivery, and meeting timescales and budgets. Core Competencies:

Work Management: Manage project control aspects (time, cost & quality), meet deadlines, set measurable targets, work under pressure, and plan resources within Health & Safety Guidelines.
People Management: Work well in a team, show leadership, delegate effectively, stay motivated and motivational, understand CPD, succession planning, and employee development.
Interpersonal/Communication: Resolve conflict, influence positively, and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Commitment & Attitude: Stay committed to business success, maintain a positive attitude, and set a positive tone within the team/office. Role Requirements:
Solid knowledge of all relevant British Standards and Design Codes.
Ability to produce designs by hand calculations or using design software, underpinned by strong engineering principles.
Proficient in technical design packages such as Tekla, CADS and Tedds.
Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Word.
Possess a full driving licence and have access to a car. Qualifications

Completion of Degree in relevant Engineering subject
Minimum 5 years’ experience working in similar engineering consultancy
