Looking for a new opportunity? Dimensions UK is hiring Male Support Workers on full-time and part-time contracts in Bricket Wood, St Albans .
Pay: £13.20 per hour.
Hours: 7.5 - 37.5 hours per week.
Requirements: Full UK driving licence and access to your own car.
This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of our dedicated team, supporting one gentleman while also having the flexibility to assist two others when needed. Our supported living home is conveniently located just 10 minutes from Junction 22 of the M25, 15 minutes from Watford, and 20 minutes from Hatfield, with free on-site parking available.
What You'll Do
Being a Support Worker requires a special kind of skill set. Day to day your focus will be providing support to adults with learning disabilities and autistic people with high support needs. Previous experience in these areas would be beneficial. However, there may be other skills and experiences that make you suitable for the role.
- Supporting individuals with daily tasks and personal development.
- Encouraging independence and helping with decision-making.
- Managing behaviours of distress with patience and empathy.
- Adapting your communication style to meet individual needs.
- Building positive relationships with those we support, their families, and other professionals.
What We're Looking For
- A compassionate and patient nature, with a willingness to support individuals with high needs.
- Flexibility to adapt to different situations and work schedules
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to adjust your approach for different people.
- Basic computer literacy to complete e-learning and handle documents.
- A commitment to personal development, attending training, and gaining relevant qualifications.
Working Hours & Shifts
- 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM
- 3:00 PM - 10:00 PM (with sleep-ins)
- Alternative weekends and bank holidays
