We have a Band 7 Clinical Lead role secondment opportunity within the Birkenhead CMHT. The secondment would run up to the end of January 2026.

Main duties of the job
An exciting secondment opportunity has arisen for an experienced practitioner to become part of community services and become a key player in the transformation agenda. As a Clinical Lead, you will be expected to have a sound knowledge of the transformation programme and the NHS long-term plan and use this to support the teams through the transformation process. You will provide high-quality expert clinical support, supervision, and guidance to staff within the team.
The post holder will participate in developing evidence-based practice within the service. It is expected that the Clinical Lead will drive best practice and continuous improvement, including embedding new and innovative practices. The post holder will have excellent management and leadership skills and advanced knowledge of both adult and older adult mental health problems.
There is an expectation as part of this role that the post holder will complete the Non Medical Prescribing qualification.

Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
1. A relevant Social Work, Nursing or Allied Health Professional (e.g. Occupational Therapy) degree level qualification or equivalent experience.
2. Current registration with a nationally recognised professional body relevant to the professional qualification held e.g. GSCC for Social workers, HPC for Occupational Therapists etc.
3. Minimum 5 years post-registration experience.
Desirable
1. Masters level qualification or equivalent short courses and/or experience.
2. Teaching qualification or significant experience.
Knowledge & Expertise
Essential
1. Excellent communication skills: working with staff, working with patients and carers, working with general practice, presentations, written reports, understanding and ability to interpret, research and facilitate staff to implement evidence-based practice.
2. Proven ability to challenge current practices and freedom to make change in light of evidence-based recommendations.
3. Knowledge, understanding and the ability to interpret and implement local and national policy direction relevant to practice.
4. Proven experience of clinical audit, skill and knowledge required to facilitate staff to undertake clinical audit.
5. Knowledge and experience of moving staff through the change management process.
6. Empowering staff to manage and support change.
7. Demonstrable effective clinical leadership with knowledge, understanding and application of leadership theories.
8. Relevant clinical expertise to support and facilitate clinical development and innovation.
9. Evidence of sound information technology skills.

1. Experience in the development of professional roles.
2. Successfully managed projects that demonstrate ability to communicate and implement change.
3. Demonstrable and proven understanding and experience of the clinical and corporate governance agenda.
4. Knowledge and experience of facilitation of reflective practice for staff and personal reflective practice.
5. Demonstrable ability and experience in motivating and empowering others to change roles and in leading practice development.
