Major Recruitment seeks an experienced Machinist / Fitter to join our small business on a permanent basis. We value individuals who can share their expertise and contribute to a variety of engaging and diverse projects. A proactive and enthusiastic approach to work is essential.
Salary: £16-£19 per hour, competitive and flexible based on experience
Working Hours:
* Full-time: Monday to Thursday 07:30 - 16:00, Friday 07:30 - 13:00 (early finish)
* Part-time: 2/3 days a week
* Permanent, Full-time or Part-time
Key Responsibilities:
* Manufacture components for diverse machinery and equipment using technical drawings.
* Execute turning, milling, and grinding operations.
* Assist in assembling sub-assemblies and completed machines.
* Participate in R&D projects and potentially install machinery at client sites.
* Conduct service and repair tasks as needed.
Requirements:
* Minimum of 5 years of practical experience in a workshop setting.
* Skilled in manual and CNC machining (turning, milling, grinding).
* Proficient in interpreting schematics and technical drawings.
* Strong skills in time management, planning, and prioritization.
* Self-driven, professional, and capable of working independently and collaboratively.
Desirable Skills:
* Experience with CNC and manual milling machines.
* Welding, fabrication, or electrical expertise.
* Background in production or engineering.
* Forklift license (advantageous but not required).
