Job Description:
We are St Helens Borough Council, located in the heart of the Northwest close to Liverpool, Manchester, and Lancashire. We are a modernising Council passionate about supporting children, families, our communities, and our workforce. Our Licensing Services team, part of the wider regulatory services including Environmental Health and Trading Standards, issues licenses for pubs, clubs, taxis, scrap metal merchants, wedding venues, and gambling establishments. The work is complex, requiring attention to detail as each document issued is part of a legal framework.
As a Licensing Services Assistant, your responsibilities will include processing enquiries, verifying documentation, taking payments, issuing licenses, vehicle plates, and ID badges. With training, you will manage your own client base. The team also handles local land search enquiries as part of legal administrative duties.
This role is suitable for individuals who enjoy being busy, working with the public, and working across multiple disciplines. Training opportunities are available, and prior experience is not essential as full training will be provided.
