You will join the Mechanical Engineering Department which provides concept, FEED and detailed design services for mechanical equipment for onshore and offshore Oil & Gas facilities. The Department consists of Rotating, Static, Packaged Equipment, and Mechanical Handling sub-disciplines as well as the HVAC and Metallurgy disciplines. Engineering positions typically involve the selection, specification, design, and requisitioning of mechanical equipment.
Role & Responsibilities
1. Knowledge and experience in the design and substantiation of ventilation systems.
2. Demonstrate experience in a similar role/environment, with recent relevant exposure to work in the industry.
3. Demonstrable experience to deliver HVAC designs at a Principal Level.
4. Lead Engineer proven experience.
5. Experience in the production of ventilation system design deliverables, i.e., Ventilation Flow Diagrams (VFD's), Basis of Design (BoD), Plant Sizing Calculations (Heating/Cooling/Fan Sizing), Control Philosophy.
6. Experience in delivery of written work including Equipment Specifications and Design Assessment Reports.
7. Maintain the required technical quality of work.
8. Identify scope and schedule changes in accordance with Change Control Process.
9. Ensure that design complies with the relevant procedures and regulations.
10. Ensure, as far as practically possible, that all assigned work is carried out in compliance with agreed budget and schedule.
11. Prepare estimates and schedules and assist in their review.
12. Maintain good communication with the client and visit Assets when necessary.
13. Encourage and provide lateral learning within the department and projects.
14. Commitment to and promotion of our values and ensuring the realization of company and project health, safety, environmental, quality, and ethics systems, policies, and procedures.
Role Requirements
1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent in an appropriate engineering subject.
2. Experienced engineer with sound technical background and expertise.
3. Experienced in the use of appropriate codes of practice, standards, and relevant sections of statutory documentation.
4. Experienced in the use of design and assessment methods used within the discipline.
5. Experienced in coordinating HVAC activities within a multi-disciplinary environment.
6. Experienced with client interface management within the HVAC discipline.
7. Competent in the use of analytical methods used within the discipline including theoretical background for analysis programs.
8. Able to estimate man-hours and materials for delegated aspects of work.
9. Experienced in quality control requirements and quality assurance for engineering work.
10. Competent in design safety/environmental requirements, procedures, and responsibilities for both self and subordinates.
11. Current BOSIET certificate beneficial but not essential.
