Scope of the Role:
Our client is seeking a Credit Controller who will be involved with looking at the big picture of the company’s available credit and potential. At the same time focusing on specific debts and their recovery process. You will focus on mitigating risks and maximising profits by ensuring credit issued by the company is paid in full and on time. You will be required to continually look for ways to make the debt collecting process more accessible, more punctual and beneficial for both the company and the client. The Credit Controller will also help the Company with future decisions by reporting and analysing current financial activity within the company.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Allocation of monies received.
2. Reviewing and releasing orders.
3. Renewing expired credit limits.
4. Debt chasing (Via phone and email).
5. Resolving invoice/order queries.
6. Month end reconciliation of bank to Bistrack (our sales and stock programme).
7. Month end reconciliation of GBP and EURO sales ledgers.
8. Reporting overdue invoices to insurance company within strict deadlines.
9. Checking customer’s credit and approving or denying it, based on industry standards.
10. Negotiating payment plans and setting up terms and conditions.
11. Setting up repayments and working with Debt Counsellors.
12. Ensuring customers pay on time and charge them for overdue invoices.
13. Maintaining accurate records.
Additional Responsibilities:
1. Liaising with insurance broker on bad debts & insurances.
2. Starting legal proceedings if clients do not pay their debts on time.
3. Liaising with Solicitors and Bailiffs.
4. Reviewing credit limits – internally and with guidance by insurance company.
Essential Skills & Experience:
1. Large company experience in a similar role is required.
2. Strong computer skills.
3. The ability to work with a team as well as independently.
4. The ideal candidate will have experience making successful credit decisions and general familiarity with how to record and report financial transactions.
